Oh, knitting money. For men reading this: We were on a quarantine Friends TV Show shirt the effect knitting “equipment” have on women, is the same effect that tools have on men. If your wife tells you, “you can bet she spent $200. (To my wife: my set was on a sale, it really cost $20.. same as that new saw I got). And not only that, there are circular, double pointed, interchangeable, bamboo, wood, aluminum, metal, long-short, sizes 1 to 100, stitch markers, stitch counters, bolus, carrying cases, special scissors, special tapestry needles, etc, etc… and you will get 2 of each. BUT, you will never knit/crochet because it is cheaper. It will never be. It is way cheaper to buy. But I always make the analogy: Why you go to France to take a picture of the Eiffel tower if you can buy a postcard at Walmart for $1?. And the postcard may look better. You do it for the “adventure” and for the “I made this” feeling.

I perfectly understand the sexist feeling, and it is not We were on a quarantine Friends TV Show shirt exclusive to men, women are also sexist about it. I have 3 brothers and a sister… they all make fun of me, in a kind way, but still. My wife won’t allow me to take any yarn outside the house, but still supports me and often have special requests for me to make. People at yarn stores (customers and sellers) look at me weird and treat me like I have no idea what I’m talking about (I believe that’s the same way women feel when going to the mechanic). I got past that. I never return to stores where they are sexist. There is especially one where I asked for a specific yarn and then a female customer got into the store.
